The covered market in Nīmes is the ideal place to discover and taste all the other local specialties like the paté of Nīmes, fougasse (salted pork pastry) and pelardons, delicate round wheels of goat cheese made in the Cevennes.

Finally, you must stop at the Villaret Bakery, in the Rue de la Madeleine, the oldest bakery in Nīmes (1775), where they offer the exquisite croquants, a diamond shaped cookie made of almonds, perfect with a cup of tea or coffee.
