Les Baux de Provence and the Alpilles

Perched on a spur of rock in the middle of the Alpilles mountains, the village of Les Baux de Provence, with its castle in ruins and its charming streets lined with lovely old houses, is a beautiful site with a breathtaking view.

Numerous painters and poets have been inspired by the beauty of the limestone crests of these mountains, the transparency of the light and the harmony of the colors which go from the grayish green of the olive trees to the dark green of the cypresses.
